Question: Is there anything salvageable in the entirety of Marx'sworks?
Answer: I would say, look to the fundamentals in any thinker's work and focus one's attention there. Any thinker will say hundreds of different things, but it's only the distinctive fundamentals that really matter. In Marx's case, the reductive economic materialism, the idea that consciousness is merely epiphenomenal, the determinism, the polylogism, the idea of inescapable and fundamental class conflict, and the endorsement of violence as the only method of ultimately solving social problems.
None of those are salvageable. Reject Marx on those bases.
